On a quintessential Melbourne day, with weather that showcased all four seasons, our U/12G Blue and Yellow teams took to the field to face Doreen United and Darebin Falcons, respectively. Thanks to the unwavering support of the Alphington FC community, both teams were able to field a diverse and united squad, comprising players from Blue, Yellow, and U/10G teams. Age and grading divisions were set aside, as many girls courageously stepped up to play. While some initial apprehension was natural, by the final whistle, it was clear that both teams had played with passion, resilience, and determination. Although the results didn’t go in our favour (0-5 and 1-2 respectively), the true spirit of the game shone through and our coaches were bursting with pride for their players and the community’s unwavering support.
